Helen Richie
Managing Consultant, Tools Business Practice Leader
Helen joined Sequoia in 2001 as a Graduate Trainee after earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham. Over the years, she has led a variety of projects across Sequoia’s four Capability Building areas, including European network strategy, and training over 1,000 planners worldwide in inventory theory. With a passion for building and problem-solving, Helen thrives in roles that allow her to design models, create simulations, and solve complex supply chain challenges.
Frustrated by the lack of an effective inventory optimisation tool beyond Excel, Helen and the Sequoia team took matters into their own hands. In 2012, she became the architect and lead developer of OnTarget, Sequoia’s powerful inventory management solution. Drawing on Sequoia’s 20+ years of inventory optimisation expertise, as well as her own consulting experience and technical skills in web-enabled applications, Helen built OnTarget to offer inventory managers enhanced visibility and control. With its robust statistical foundation and intuitive graphical interface, OnTarget is now deployed globally and plays a key role in Sequoia’s ongoing success.
